Pour clore en beauté ce festival de jazz, l’un des plus grands contrebassistes du monde propose avec sa formation favorite, le trio acoustique, ses tubes et ceux à venir.
Il y a quelques mois, le contrebassiste israélien Avishai Cohen faisait paraitre son album symphonique « Two Roses » – le « projet d’une vie » dira-t-il lui-même. Faisant suite à cet album couronné de succès et chroniqué dans plus d’une centaine de revues à travers le monde, Avishai Cohen revient au trio jazz et fait son grand retour avec une formation éblouissante : Guy Moskovich au piano et, à la batterie, l’arrivée de la jeune Roni Kaspi, musicienne exceptionnelle qui a rejoint le groupe en tournée à l’été 2021. Ce nouvel album « Shifting Sands », enregistré au mois d’août 2021 et qui parait en mai 2022 sur label naïve, renoue avec l’alchimie si particulière qui fait le charme de la musique d’Avishai Cohen : grandes lignes mélodiques, rythmes divers et recherchés et une élégance musicale si particulière qui n’appartient qu’à lui.
