Star incontournable du jazz mondial, le trompettiste Erik Truffaz rend ici hommage au 7e art.
Avec son nouvel album Rollin’ & Clap paru en avril 2023, il effectue un virage à 180°. Lui qui ne jouait jusqu’alors que des pièces de son répertoire revisite des thèmes majeurs du cinéma français. À l’origine de ce projet : une commande du Festival du Film Francophone d’Angoulême pour « déjouer » des musiques de cinéma. Il plonge alors dans son panthéon de bandes originales et célèbre les compositeurs de l’âge d’or du cinéma français : Nino Rota, Michel Magne, Ennio Morricone, Philippe Sarde… Avec son complice de toujours Marcello Giuliani et les musiciens Raphaël Chassin, Alexis Anérilles et Matthis Pascaud, il rend un hommage sensible à ces partitions qui rayonnent toujours dans l’imaginaire collectif. Lumineux !
